NO KINGS 2 – October 18 - Over 2,500 Actions Planned Nationwide

October 11, 2025

On October 18, communities across the country will take part in the No Kings Day of Peaceful Action, a nationwide mobilization uniting millions of Americans in nonviolent protest against President Trump’s authoritarian actions and overreach of power. As the president escalates his authoritarian actions by sending National Guard troops into cities and states where neither the Governor nor the local authorities have requested assistance, we are exercising our First Amendment rights to say – citizens are saying, we do not agree. We are standing together on October 18 to say, this is not what democracy looks like; we have no kings. Rather, the power belongs to the people.

In the Fargo – Moorhead area, the event will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 pm in front of City Hall and will feature speakers, music and partner organizations providing information at tables. Our speakers will include Ashley Gaschk, President, ND AFL – CIO; Dr. Anastassiya Andiranova, a community activist who is also a Ukrainian immigrant and naturalized citizen; Cody Schuler, Advocacy Manager of ACLU ND; and the noted labor icon, Mark Froemke, President, West MN Area Labor Council / Red River Valley, AFL-CIO. Well known local musician James Bergman will also perform with sound provided by Livewire.

Groups organizing the No Kings peaceful protests across the country include ACLU, American Federation of Teachers, Common Defense, 50501, Indivisible, Human Rights, Campaign, League of Conservation Voters, MoveOn, National Nurses United, Public Citizen, SEIU, Blue Anchor Project, among others. For a complete list, visit nokings.org/partners. Locally, the No Kings event in the Fargo – Moorhead area is spearheaded by the local Indivisible chapters of Moorhead and Fargo, with lead partners being local AFL-CIO labor units and the ACLU.

All No Kings events adhere to a shared commitment to nonviolent protest and community safety. Organizers are trained in de-escalation and work closely with local partners to ensure peaceful and powerful actions nationwide. For our No Kings event here in Fargo, we have coordinated with the local police and will also have our safety volunteers present. We are committed to peaceful, non-violent protest and expect all participants to abide by those expectations.

Communities across North Dakota and Minnesota are also participating in No Kings events. For a complete list of locations for the No Kings events, please visit NoKings.org.
